Timber windows

Timber windows have been a specialty of mine for over 15 years, during which I have gained extensive experience manufacturing a wide range of styles. These include sliding sash windows, Yorkshire sliding windows, traditional flush casement windows, stormproof windows, and curved windows. My work frequently involves heritage and listed buildings, ensuring compliance while preserving the original character and features of the property. To maintain authenticity, we take profiles from the site a week before manufacturing begins. This allows us to create custom cutters for our spindle moulder, ensuring the exact profiles are replicated. For modern timber windows, I accommodate increased glass thickness, such as 24mm double-glazed units, or slimlite 14mm double-glazed units for a more traditional appearance. Our aim is always to achieve the highest energy efficiency while preserving the desired aesthetics. All windows are crafted in our workshop using traditional joinery techniques, including mortise and tenon joints that are wedged for durability. Depending on the profile, scribe or pocket joints may also be used for enhanced strength and precision. We also account for fire safety requirements, ensuring that our windows meet or exceed the original specifications. When necessary, we incorporate features such as a flying mullion to maintain both safety and design integrity. Our commitment to craftsmanship ensures every window is a perfect blend of quality, functionality, and timeless beauty.
